Leonardo da Vinci (b. 1452) is a well known Italian
painter, inventor and scientist, Leonardo was
born at Vinci in the Italian region of Tuscany as
the illegitimate son of Piero da Vinci, a notary,
and a peasant women, Caterina,
Da Vinci is most famously known for painting the
Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, he is also known
for thinking of inventions that were far ahead of
his time, such as several Flying Machines and
a tank,
Leonardo also helped with the planning and
construction of several bridges and dikes, and he
is also credited by some for inventing the
wheel-lock musket,
Leonardo da Vinci died on May 2, 1519 at the
age of 67 in the city of
Amboise in France.
